C block week of 11/14

Progress reports were distributed last Friday 11/11/11). Counting this week, we have 5 weeks remaining before the end of the semester. Be sure your student is attending recovery sessions to bring their grade up to passing before December 7.

Recovery Schedule:

    • Monday 3:30 - 4:15
    • Tuesday 3:30 - 4:15

    • Wednesday 8:00 - 8:30
We are hurtling toward the end of the semester. This week, we will review fish, dissect perch and dogfish head sharks, and test over fish. Friday will be devoted to dissections that students have missed due to absences. Students who have no dissections to make up will work on questions about amphibians.

3rd period week of 11/14

This week, we conclude our study of flatworms, phylum Platyhelminthes, and move on to segmented worms, phylum Annelida.
  • Disease-causing worm projects were due last Friday (11/11/11). We are accepting late projects at the cost of 10 points per day after the due date.

The study of Annelida will include
  • notes on marine worms, earthworms, and leeches
  • body plan worksheets
  • earthworm dissection (scheduled Friday 11/18)
  • a study guide (handed out on Monday 11/14)
  • a test over the entire phylum
