Week of 8/29

This week in Zoology, we will conclude our study of organs. Students have worked on a 60 question review sheet in class which they will be able to use on Wednesday's test. Please ensure your student completes this assignment. I still have tutoring Mon and Tues from 3:30 - 4:15 as well as Wed 8 - 8:30 if anyone needs extra time/help.

We will also complete a lab assignment using microscopes to view and analyze different tissue samples tomorrow (Tuesday).

Thursday will begin our look at protozoa. This will include notes, questions, and an analysis of pond water. We need pond water. If your student could bring some in a closed container, it would be very helpful.

Week of 8/22

So far, we have studied the geologic time scale, cladograms, and evolution.

This week, we will conclude evolution and have a quiz on Wednesday. Then we will begin our study of cells, tissues, and organs. This study will include a lab using microscopes to view and draw various animal tissue samples.

Please check for regular updates on our website, run by our other Zoology teacher Rie Cowan. The site also has many useful links for studying. http://www.quiz.com/pages/acowan/zoology
